As the Association of African Universities (AAU) marks its 60th Anniversary in 2027, the continent reflects on six decades of coordinated leadership and institutional development in African higher education. Established in 1967, AAU has evolved into Africa’s principal convening and advocacy platform, advancing academic quality, institutional governance, research capacity, and continental and global partnerships.
